1SA 2019 - 2020
Welcome to 1SA's class page!
Hi my name is Miss Garton and this is my first year of Teaching at Offley Primary Academy which I am really excited about! I will be taking over Miss Allan when she leaves to go on Maternity Leave. At home, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as going to theme parks. We are also very lucky to have Mrs Perry helping us out for 3 days a week. Each week I will update 1SA’s website so you can see what goes on inside our classroom.
1SA’s P.E slots take place on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Please ensure your child has their P.E. kit for each of these days.
Children are prompted to change their reading book each day, if they have read their book. We encourage children to read at least four times a week and they will receive a sticker for this, consistent reading each week will enable children to receive the reading treat at the end of term.
Week ending 20.03.20
It’s the end of a very strange week. As we come to terms with these unprecedented events, please know that I have loved getting to know and then teaching your children so far this half term. I hope that you all stay safe and well during this uncertain time. Hopefully we will all be back together soon.
On Monday, it starts a new adventure for everyone, remote learning. I would just like to inform you of the different platforms that your children have access to whilst they are at home.
There will be a daily maths PowerPoint with questions attached as well as a daily English PowerPoint with activities sticking with the story we are currently doing ‘The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth’. This will all be in line with where we currently are at in the curriculum.
There will be some Science/RE tasks that will be posted throughout the week.
Reading Eggs – phonics and reading.
Prodigy – maths activities
Phonics play Remember to also keep active. Joe Wicks ‘The Body Coach’ is doing an online PE lesson every morning Monday – Friday at 9am. (https://www.thebodycoach.com/blog/pe-with-joe-1254.html). Please make the most of our time off as well by trying to learn a new skill if able to do so, such as: baking, cleaning or gardening.
But most importantly please look after yourselves and those around you. Although this is not going to be easy, we will get through this.
I hope to see you all soon. Stay positive!
